  1. Birth of the Orchestra
    We were born as a string ensemble

    The I Virtuosi Italiani complex, born in 1989, has exceeded 35 years of activity.

  2. In Paris and Vienna
    A concert also at the Konzerthaus

    The Virtuosi Italiani performed all of Rossini's one-act operas for the Opera Comique in Paris and gave two concerts at the Konzerthaus in Vienna.

  3. Concert for the Senate of the Italian Republic
    With the pianist Giovanni Allevi

    On 19 December 2008 the Virtuosi Italiani held the concert for the Senate of the Italian Republic and televised live by RAI 1, the "Concert for Life and Peace" performed in Rome, Bethlehem and Jerusalem and broadcast by RAI worldwide, the Concert at the Sala Nervi in the Vatican in the presence of the Pope.

  4. In Vivaldi's church
    Concert seasons in Venice since 2011

    Since 2011, the Virtuosi Italiani have been the protagonists of a Concert Season, in the Church of the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, the place where Antonio Vivaldi played, taught and gave birth to all his works throughout his life.

  5. Nomination alla Opus Classic Awards
    A collaboration with Deutsche Grammophon

    In June, the Virtuosi Italiani received a nomination for the Opus Classic Awards, the most important prize for classical music in Germany.

  6. DIAPASON D'OR for the CD “AMICI & RIVALI”
    January 1st, 2020

    In December 2021, the DIAPASON D'OR DE L'ANNEE 2021 was awarded to I VIRTUOSI ITALIANI, conducted by Corrado Rovaris with the tenors Lawrence Brownlee and Michael Spyres, for the CD WARNER CLASSICS - ERATO, entirely dedicated to Rossini entitled “AMICI & RIVALS”

  7. XXV Concert Season in Verona
    The 2024 concert season of I Virtuosi Italiani starts on January 18th, in Verona, celebrating a quarter of a century

  8. XXV Concert Season in Verona
    The 26th Concert Season of I Virtuosi Italiani kicks off on January 17 at Teatro Ristori and Spazio San Pietro in Monastero, Verona

    The Season opens with an evening conducted by Maestro Oleg Caetani, featuring Rimsky-Korsakov’s one-act opera Mozart and Salieri, staged for the first time in Verona, and one of the masterpieces of the Russian genius Igor Stravinsky, The Soldier’s Tale (Histoire du soldat).

The I VIRTUOSI ITALIANI complex, born in 1989, celebrates 30 years of activity.

It is one of the most active and qualified groups on the international music scene, regularly invited to the most important theatres, festivals and seasons around the world. They are recognized for a particular aptitude in creating increasingly innovative projects, constant research in various languages, in addition to the excellent artistic quality demonstrated over years of activity.

There are numerous collaborations with soloists and conductors of international importance.

They collaborated on the staging of Stravinsky's Apollon Musagete with the New York City Ballet; in 2001 they performed all of Rossini's one-act operas for the Opera Comique in Paris and gave two concerts at the Konzerthaus in Vienna.

The Virtuosi Italiani have performed for the most important theaters and for the main Italian musical institutions such as the Teatro alla Scala, the Teatro La Fenice, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the GOG of Genoa, the Unione Musicale of Turin, the 'University Concert Institution of Rome, the Teatro alla Pergola of Florence, the Philharmonic Society of Rome, the Teatro Filarmonico of Verona, the Società del Quartetto of Milan and many others.

In the sign of the versatility and attention paid to a choice of repertoire aimed at involving an increasingly wider audience with particular attention to young people, the interest that the group has always shown in the border repertoire is also significant. Hence the birth of collaborations and projects with artists such as Franco Battiato, Goran Bregovic, Uri Caine, Chick Corea, Paolo Fresu, Ludovico Einaudi, Michael Nyman, Cesare Picco, Enrico Rava, Antonella Ruggiero, Gianluigi Trovesi, Richard Galliano and many others.

The concerts of I Virtuosi Italiani have always been crowned with enthusiastic acclaim from critics and the public. This is what Enrico Girardi writes in the “Corriere della Sera”: «The Virtuosi Italiani are an ensemble of absolute value. They tackle the baroque, the classic and the contemporary not only with ease, but with a determination, a polish and an "adrenaline" that produces life and tension without pushing beyond the limits of a wise stylistic relevance".
