I Virtuosi Italiani aim for stylistic relevance in every musical genre, with great rigor and great respect for their audience.
The Italian Virtuosos experiment and wish to enter more deeply into the repertoires of their illustrious guests and into their languages.
The proposed programs are the result of the realization of the idea of combining the repertoire and the spirit of Baroque music with jazz, tango, improvisation and other forms of expression.

Paolo Fresu
THE ITALIAN VIRTUOSIS
Alberto Martini first violin and conductor
The project, certainly ambitious and intriguing, was born from the meeting between Paolo Fresu and the director of I VIRTUOSI ITALIANI Alberto Martini. The consequent desire to go deeper into one another's repertoires and languages did the rest. The proposed program is the result of the realization of the idea of combining the repertoire and the spirit of Baroque music with jazz and improvisation.
The protagonists intended to fathom the affinities between the rhythmic and harmonic approach of Baroque music and that typical of jazz, addressing the subject in a dynamic way, combining compositions by Monteverdi, Bach, Vivaldi etc. to those of Uri Caine, Richard Galliano, Daniele di Bonaventura and Fresu himself.
The program will therefore feature not only period compositions, but also compositions expressly created by living musicians and composers with the "baroque" spirit of improvisation, giving life to an intense and varied show in which classics and contemporaries will intersect in a fascinating and engaging balance.
Paolo Fresu's trumpet will interact with I VIRTUOSI ITALIANI, one of the most versatile and popular ensembles on the contemporary cultured scene.
A noble formation, which works in the field of ancient and contemporary music, but also in collaboration with artists of other origins, such as Franco Battiato, Chick Corea, Uri Caine, Michael Nyman and many others.
THE ITALIAN VIRTUOSIS with URI CAINE
The project was born from the meeting between Uri Caine, I Virtuosi Italiani and Alberto Martini, their director, during the summer of 2009 when they created their first collaboration for the “Sounds of the Dolomites” Festival. The consequent desire to go deeper into one another's repertoires and languages did the rest. The proposed program is a mix of classical pieces such as the Bach concerto in F minor for piano and orchestra or the variations on a theme by Handel by Brahms, revised by the compositional genius of Uri Caine and pieces written specifically for the collaboration with I Virtuosi Italiani , like Summer Lightning. Uri Caine's piece “Three Movements for Piano and Strings” will be presented for the first time in Italy. the result of the realization of the idea of combining the repertoire and the spirit of Baroque music with jazz and improvisation.
The protagonists intended to bring together the affinities and differences of the rhythmic and harmonic characteristics of so-called classical music and those typical of jazz, addressing the discourse in a dynamic and innovative way by proposing compositions by Bach, Handel, and Brahms filtered by the compositional sensitivity of Uri Caine and from the ability of I VIRTUOSI ITALIANI to confront and interact with different types of languages
The proposed program will therefore create an intense and varied show in which classic and contemporary will intersect in a fascinating and engaging balance.
Uri Caine's piano will interact with I Virtuosi Italiani, one of the most versatile and appreciated ensembles of the contemporary cultured scene: a noble formation, which works in the field of ancient and contemporary music, but also in collaboration with artists of other origins, such as Franco Battiato , Chick Corea, Michael Nyman, Ludovico Einaudi, Paolo Fresu, Richard Galliano, Giovanni Allevi and many others.

Tango is a music increasingly present in concert halls and theaters. The popular character at the base of this musical genre (although still characterized by compositional elements of great complexity and avant-garde), makes it able to be easily accessible even to the vast public.
The relationship between jazz and European classical music is one of the most debated themes among historians, critics and enthusiasts, and is still today the subject of misunderstandings, distorted historical visions and a terrain of ideological conflict. It is a complex, at times contradictory relationship, a sort of encounter-clash between cultures that feeds on both mistrust and authentic and fruitful exchanges.
Since the early 1900s, the music has become a part of cinema in an increasingly integral way and its use becomes a source of inspiration for a new way of making and interpreting music.
There are many testimonies of the use of classical music in cinematography.
Conceiving the Baroque as a historical period is certainly an extreme simplification, commonly used also in literature, architecture and other figurative arts but which, particularly in the musical field, presents evident limitations and a series of problems determined by the wide range of genres, styles, compositional and executive techniques that develop over the course of about one hundred and fifty years.
